Flash Portraits

To edit this picture, I first turned it to black and white. I then increased the contrast and added some black vignetting around the edges. In Lightroom, I used the brush tool to decrease the brightness of the wall behind my friend's head.

Portrait Project

In this photo shoot, I was trying to communicate my friend's free spirit. She has a very boho-ish fashion style and by going to the town of Port Costa, I got to communicate her free spiritedness with the artsy, alternative personality of the town.
To edit this picture, I first turned it to black and white. I then increased the contrast and lowered the brightness. I added some black vignetting around the edges to make her face pop out more.
To edit this picture, I cropped the edges to make her appear larger and the main focus of the picture. I blurred the background out more in Lightroom and slightly increased the Saturation. In Photoshop, I dodged her eyes to make them lighter and stand out more.
I increased the saturation slightly on this picture.
To edit this picture, I used the brush tool in Lightroom to edit everything in the picture but my friend. I slid all the color sliders in varying directions and made the graffiti on the wall much more vibrant and colorful. I also adjusted the brightness and contrast of everything in the picture.

Connecting to a Place

I took this photo at 7:00 on the hill behind my house as the sun was setting. To edit this, I increased the contrast to make the tree darker and increased the saturation and used the hue slider to make the colors of the photo more yellow. After that, I added a small amount of vignetting around the edges.
This photo represents the sense of sound. When I was up on the hill, the grass was moving in the wind and making rustling sounds. To edit this photo, I changed it to black and white and increased the contrast and made the lighter parts of the picture lighter. I then added some vignetting around the edges.
This photo represents the sense of sight. I really liked the texture on the tree, so I decided to get closer and take a picture. To edit this picture, I increased the saturation and added some yellow tones.

Paper Project

To manipulate the paper, I crumpled it up into a ball and rolled it around in my hands to give it a softer texture. I then unfolded it and placed it on the ground and stood directly above it. I used light from a lamp in my home. In Lightroom, I turned it to black and white and upped the contrast to make the shadows that the paper made pop out.

To manipulate this paper, i folded it like a fan and laid it over a black background out of paper. I used the light from a lamp in my house. in Lightroom, I upped the contrast and added some vignetting to add emphasis to the folded paper in the center.
